Our Origin Story
Solkarra Aromatics began with a simple daily practice: lighting incense with intention.
We’re part of Solkarra Group Pty Ltd, founded in 2025 by Cassie, Luke, Tom, and Sinta.
Solkarra started from a shared love of archery and the kind of community it creates – steady practice, supportive people, and a sense of belonging. From there, we realised something: the things we genuinely love can also be a vehicle for positive influence, connection, and better outcomes for others.
A mission bigger than product
Aromatics by Solkarra exists for more than beautiful scents. Our goal is to help build much-needed community resources in Sinta’s home region of Karangasem, Indonesia.
Sinta was a primary school teacher back home, and now works as an early childhood educator in Australia. She’s seen first-hand that many children, despite being loved and supported by their families, simply have limited access to the things we often take for granted: school uniforms, lunches, and basic classroom supplies.
Incense is part of our daily rhythm for prayer and rituals, and we’ve been meticulous about sourcing. We choose materials and makers based on what we love in incense: a natural aroma created with essential oils (not perfume), a clean burn, and a scent that feels balanced rather than overpowering. These are the details you notice when incense is more than just fragrance – when it’s part of your life.
That’s why we donate 15% of profits from Solkarra Aromatics back to the communities we purchase from. We want giving to be built into the structure of the business, not an afterthought.
Where we’re heading
By 2028, we aim to begin a dedicated support fund for several schools in remote regions of Karangasem, helping provide:
- school uniforms
- lunches
- classroom supplies and learning resources
Over time, we hope to broaden that work to surrounding regions – always with the same intention: practical support that strengthens education and opportunity.
